The Hurricanes booked a home Super Rugby semi-final on Saturday by thrashing the Sharks 41-0 at Westpac Stadium.
Loni Uhila and James Marshall scored first-half tries, with Jason Woodward, Vaea Fifita, TJ Perenara and Brad Shields also touching down after the interval in the six-try rout.
Beauden Barrett kicked three conversions and a penalty, and Woodward one conversion as the Wellington side posted their sixth straight triumph.
It victory may have come at a cost, though, as captain Dane Coles left the field early in the second half holding his ribs and swiftly headed to hospital.
