Worcester's Phil Dowson charged with elbowing Northampton's Ken Pisi in head

Worcester flanker Phil Dowson could face a suspension after being charged with elbowing Northampton's Ken Pisi in the head.

Dowson will appear before a Rugby Football Union (RFU) disciplinary panel on Wednesday night, for an incident from Worcester's 24-14 loss at Northampton on Saturday.

"Phil Dowson of Worcester Warriors will appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel charged with striking with his elbow," read an RFU statement.

"The flanker allegedly struck Ken Pisi of Northampton Saints with his elbow making contact with his head during the Aviva Premiership match on Saturday 25 February and was subsequently cited. The incident occurred in the first half of the match.

"Dowson will appear before a three-person RFU Disciplinary panel chaired by William Harbage QC in Coventry this evening at 6:30pm."
