Williams seals Scarlets loan move

Cardiff Blues utility back Tom Williams has joined Scarlets on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old, brother of Blues and Wales scrum-half Lloyd and son of former British and Irish Lion and Wales star Brynmor, can play at both full-back and wing and has been brought on board with injury concerns over Harry Robinson (neck), Jordan Williams (shoulder) and Steffan Hughes (knee) .

Liam Williams and new signing DTH van der Merwe will also miss the start of the 2015-16 Guinness PRO12 season as they are away on Rugby World Cup duty with Wales and Canada respectively.

"It's a great opportunity for me to come to the Scarlets and I'm hoping to get some game time under my belt," Williams told the official club website.

Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac said: "Tom is an exciting young player who's been a regular on the sevens circuit. and we look forward to seeing his continued development with us."
