Top 14 club Toulouse and South African international Chiliboy Ralepelle, who is under investigation for doping, have agreed to terminate the hooker's contract that was set to expire in June, the club announced Friday.

Ralepelle, 28, has made 22 appearances for the Springboks, but suffered ruptured knee ligaments in February 2014, and then tested positive for an anabolic steroid, in June the same year, while undergoing rehabilitation.

The former Springboks under-21 captain was also suspended and sent home from an international Tour in 2010 when he tested positive for a banned substance.

No punishment has been handed down on the former Bulls forward although Toulouse were reluctant to reintegrate Ralepelle back into the side despite his full recovery.

The club's director of recruitment Jean-Michel Rancoule revealed the two parties had reached a "friendly" agreement to end the South African's contract who has made just 16 appearances for Toulouse since October 2013.
