Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has announced the signing of Vincent Clerc ahead of next season.

The wing is nearing the end of his career but, after 14 years at Toulouse, he has decided to move to the Stade Mayol for the 2016/17 campaign.

Clerc has 67 France caps to his name and has won the Six Nations three times, while he has also claimed three European Cups and the Top 14 title once with Toulouse.

The move was announced by Boudjellal on the club's official Twitter page and reports have suggested the 35-year-old has signed a one-year deal.

Clerc will join the likes of Bryan Habana, Quade Cooper, Ma'a Nonu, Leigh Halfpenny and Matt Giteau in a star-studded Toulon line-up next term.

Toulon are currently second in the Top 14 standings, six points behind leaders Clermont Auvergne with two games remaining, while Toulouse are fifth.
