Robshaw returns from injury as Harlequins welcome back international contingent

Former England captain Chris Robshaw will return from injury ahead of schedule when Harlequins continue their quest for European Champions Cup qualification on Saturday.

Robshaw, who missed England's entire RBS 6 Nations campaign due to a shoulder problem that has sidelined him since early January, features against Twickenham Stoop visitors Newcastle, who are six points behind Quins and also chasing a top-half Aviva Premiership finish.

Quins are further bolstered by returning England trio Mike Brown, Danny Care and Joe Marler, while Scotland wing Tim Visser and Wales centre Jamie Roberts join them in the starting XV.

"I am obviously delighted to see the return of our international players, alongside several of those who have been missing with injury in recent times," Quins rugby director John Kingston said.

"Saturday's match sees the beginning of the home stretch in the Premiership, and we are in a fantastic position to secure Champions Cup qualification for the first time in three years.

"But only a top-quality performance will be sufficient to see off a very dangerous Newcastle side."

Newcastle rugby director Dean Richards returns to his former club, and the ex-England number eight said: "We understand how Harlequins play and what attributes their individual players bring to it, with the likes of Mike Brown and Danny Care coming back.

"We know what they offer, and it's not difficult to appreciate what they add, but it is how we deal with it.

"Our attack has been outstanding throughout the last part of the season, and provided we get that right, we shouldn't be too concerned about what other people do.

"I am always confident. You never prepare to fail, but ultimately you've got to make it happen. We are in a good position at the moment, the boys are buzzing, but we are not going to get over-confident."

Head coach Aaron Mauger will take charge of his final game as Leicester boss when the Tigers tackle their East Midlands rivals Northampton at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.

Leicester announced earlier this week that former New Zealand centre Mauger will leave them following the Saints clash, also revealing that Australian Matt O'Connor will be in charge next season.

Leicester are currently one point outside the Premiership's top four, and three points above Northampton, with both sides welcoming back their England international contingent.

Mauger said: "It is always a big battle with Saints. They haven't played for a couple of weeks, so they will be fresh and up for it.

"We are on a six-day turnaround and the high of winning the Anglo-Welsh Cup last Sunday, but we've managed the squad through this period. Our guys know what is coming, but we are really excited by the challenge."

Exeter, beaten by Leicester in the Anglo-Welsh final, will maintain their pursuit of a home tie in the play-offs if they defeat Sandy Park visitors Sale Sharks on Saturday.

England wing Jack Nowell is back from Six Nations duty to start for the Chiefs, with Exeter knowing that a bonus point win would keep them ahead of third-placed Saracens.

"We know Sale will be physical, they will be competitive and that they will have been preparing for us for the last two or three weeks," Exeter assistant coach Ali Hepher said.

"They will want to come after us, so we have to make sure we combat that and go back at them with even more.

"It will be a good contest, no question about that, but we have to focus on ourselves and put ourselves in a good frame of mind to perform in what is a hugely-important Premiership fixture for us."

Sunday's Premiership action, meanwhile, sees Saracens continue their quest for a home tie in the play-offs when Bath visit Allianz Park, and leaders Wasps should consolidate top spot by defeating Worcester at the Ricoh Arena.
