Reid keen to erase painful memories

Prop Gordon Reid will draw upon painful memories when Glasgow play their second consecutive Guinness Pro12 final.

Reid started last year when Glasgow fell to a 34-12 defeat by Leinster in the final and is looking to give his family and Warriors fans a far better day when they face Munster in Belfast on Saturday.

The 28-year-old said: "You use the memory of the final and the other pain along the years.

"You always think about where we were five or six years ago. We were barely making eighth or 10th in the league. We were right at the bottom.

"So you think about all those times as well as the good times and how well we have played, and we need to get up to that standard.

"We always come back to the final last year and how we felt emotionally. All your family travelled over and it was like you had let a lot of people down.

"But this year there is not going to be any regrets. We are going to go out there and give 100 per cent and hopefully come away with the silverware."
