Jon Callard will leave his role as Rugby Football Union national performance academy manager and international performance coach this summer.

The RFU announced former Bath and England full-back Callard's departure following 12 years in various performance coaching roles.

He is a former England Under-20 coach, with England winning a Six Nations title and reaching the World Championship final during his tenure, while last year he coached England Saxons to victory over Irish Wolfhounds in Cork.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the RFU," Callard said.

"I am pleased to be moving on to my next challenge with the pathway established as one of the best in the world, and so many young players representing their country at senior level after graduating from the national academy programme.

"It has been great to work with so many passionate people, and it is the perfect time to 'hand the baton' over so the good work can continue."
