The kick-off for Harlequins' Challenge Cup Pool 5 match with Stade Francais has been put back 90 minutes after a problem with a section of the Stade Jean Bouin pitch.

With both sides looking for victory to clinch the last quarter-final place in this year's competition, the match that was due to start at 2pm local time, has been delayed until 3.30pm due to the surface problem.

The European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) released a statement, which read: " The kick-off of today's Challenge Cup round-six match between Stade Francais Paris and Harlequins has been delayed.

"After consultation with the coaching staff of both clubs, the match referee, George Clancy of Ireland, decided that a small section of the playing surface at Stade Jean Bouin was not fit for the fixture to go ahead at the appointed time (14.00 local time).

"It is now hoped that the Pool 5 match will kick-off at 15.30 (local time, 14.30 GMT) at the same venue. EPCR will communicate further details if necessary."
