Wales centre Cory Allen will leave Cardiff Blues to join Ospreys on a two-year deal this summer.

The 24-year-old will join Gloucester's James Hook at Ospreys next term, with the Welsh region also confirming new contracts for Sam Davies, Justin Tipuric, Dan Baker and Dan Lydiate.

Allen won the last of his four Wales caps at the 2015 World Cup, but head coach Steve Tandy expects him to flourish at Ospreys.

"Cory is someone I've always admired as a player," said Tandy. "I like the way he plays the game, he's physical and his post-contact work is excellent, how he can offload the ball.

"I think he can thrive in our environment and really kick-on with his career.

"We've got some variety in the centre position, and we are starting to build some real strength in depth in that position, but Cory will offer something different to our other options."
