Mallinder happy with final venue
Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder says he has no problem with playing the LV= Cup final at Worcester. There has been criticism from some fans of the decision to stage the match against Gloucester at Sixways and on the final weekend of the Six Nations.
"I suppose it's slightly disappointing for everybody that it's not happening at Twickenham," Mallinder told BBC Radio Northampton.
"But it's a cup final and the ground will be packed."
He added: "It won't actually worry the players or coaches too much.
"And there will be two sets of supporters equally vocal and passionate about their team.
"If we can win it'll be a fantastic achievement for the club."
The timing of the final means the Saints must face Gloucester without Ben Foden, Dylan Hartley and Chris Ashton, who are all on duty for England against France in Paris on Saturday night, and Euan Murray who is playing for Scotland against Ireland.
