Wasps have announced that England World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio is to join the club's board of directors.

Dallaglio, 43, led Wasps to three European Cup triumphs and five Premiership titles during an illustrious playing career.

He has recently been working with the club, advising on marketing campaigns during Wasps' move to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, and helped deliver their successful £35million retail bond issue earlier this year.

" I am thrilled to have been asked to return to Wasps' board as a non-executive director," Dallaglio said.

"Wasps has formed such a significant part of my life, having spent almost 20 years with the club.

" The ground-breaking move to the Ricoh Arena in the West Midlands was a necessary and bold decision, which is now paying dividends for the club, as you can see by attendances having tripled and hospitality having increased by 500 per cent.

"It is a very exciting time to be involved with the club.

"I am looking forward to being part of Wasps' new era and helping to ensure Wasps' off-field progress matches the progress that Dai Young's squad will undoubtedly make on the field."
