Jonathan Joseph savours 'unbelievable' feeling as England complete perfect year

Two-try Jonathan Joseph hailed an "unbelievable" year after England made it 13 wins from 13 in 2016 with a 37-21 defeat of Australia at Twickenham.

The outside centre scored the first and last of England's four tries as Eddie Jones' side overcame an awful start to their final autumn international to clinch a 14th straight victory.

Marland Yarde and man of the match Ben Youngs touched down in the opening 10 minutes of the second half for the hosts' other tries.

Australia, who were denied three early tries by the TMO, took the lead through Sefanaia Naivalu's touchdown and stayed in the game via Sekope Kepu's 65th-minute try.

Joseph, a major part of England's 100 per cent year, told Sky Sports 2: " It feels unbelievable. It's been a tough year but the boys have worked massively hard. Well deserved, I think we've worked really hard. The boys are ready for a rest now."

On England's slow start, Joseph said: " I think we were disappointed with how we started but the resilience we showed to bounce back. twenty minutes in, we really bounced back in the set piece in the first half, and we played flat, on the line."

Joseph's first try on 30 minutes, chasing Owen Farrell's kick through to score, began the recovery.

"Faz did a great option in getting off the line and kicking the ball forward. Luckily that's my job, I have to be up with him, he kicked it nicely," Joseph added.
